How does Guardian24’s Lone Worker Solution Work?

Guardian24 is a Lone Worker Safety service that can be used via specialist Lone Worker Device or as via a smartphone app for Android, iPhone or Windows Mobile. We also have solutions for standard mobile phones.

The service works in two ways: The ability to raise an alarm at the press of a button and the functionality to allow lone workers to log in and out of daily tasks, leaving details of their location and the expected duration.

The combination of procedures enables lone workers to be both proactive and reactive about carrying out their duties safely. Both methods go towards ensuring the safety and security of your employees whilst facing potential risks on their own.

Raising the Alarm

Alarms can be raised by simply pressing the dedicated SOS button or assigned mobile phone key which connects to our 24/7 UK based Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), certified to BS 8484:2016 and BS 5979 (Category II). Our ARC controllers will be able to view the user’s GPS location and the user’s pre-registered emergency information, including escalation procedures and contacts.

Controllers will listen-in and if it’s safe to do so, talk to the user. Utilising all the information available our Controllers will manage the incident; contacting the emergency services and/or the organisation’s nominated responders.

Logging an Activity

The Guardian24 service also allows lone workers to log activities, leaving details of who they are visiting and how long they expect to be.

If an activity timer elapses, Controllers at Guardian24's ARC will automatically call the lone worker to verify their safety. If the lone worker cannot be reached, a nominated respondent (as specified by the client) will be notified informing them of the overrun activity.

At this stage an agreed protocol will be followed to verify the lone worker's safety and location.
